Paulo Dybala at the double as Juventus rally to beat Udinese

Paulo Dybala's set-piece double saw Serie A leaders Juventus come from behind to defeat Udinese 2-1 at home and extend their lead at the top of the table to five points.

Udinese, with former Juventus boss Luigi Delneri in charge for the first time, went ahead through Jakub Jankto's strike, although Gianluigi Buffon should have saved his 20-yard shot.

Dybala equalised before half-time with a lovely free-kick and calmly tucked away a penalty early in the second half to seal a fourth straight league win.

Juventus were far from their best in the first half but still created chances. Dybala went close after only two minutes and Hernanes sent a glancing header straight at goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis.

Mario Mandzukic, with four goals for Croatia during the international break, then had a glorious chance to score his first club goal of the season but poked the ball over the crossbar from 10 yards out after it had ricocheted into his path.

Udinese punished the error shortly afterwards, taking the lead after half an hour. Jankto hit a solid, low shot which Buffon would usually save but he allowed the ball to skid beneath his body and through his grasp.

Stephan Lichtsteiner sent a shot into the side-netting as Juventus sought a speedy reply, which came two minutes before half-time. Dybala's left-footed free-kick from a central position just outside the area was always curling away from the goalkeeper and the ball nestled in the back of the net.

Five minutes after the break, Alex Sandro went down inside the box and Dybala rolled the resulting penalty into the bottom corner as the goalkeeper dived the wrong way.

It should have been 3-1 after 62 minutes but Sandro somehow managed to miss the target with a header from three yards out and Udinese almost made the hosts pay but Buffon atoned for his earlier mistake by making fine low saves to repel efforts from Cyril Thereau and Duvan Zapata.
