Rostov, PSV still winless in UCL after 2-2 draw in Group D

PSV were left to rue another penalty miss in the Champions League as they drew 2-2 at Rostov in Group D.

Andres Guardado missed from the spot in the opening defeat to Atletico Madrid -- and this time Davy Propper was denied from 12 yards.

Propper had earlier cancelled out a Dmitry Poloz opener, with the Rostov player adding a second before Luuk de Jong made it 2-2 just before half-time.

Soslan Dzhanaev then produced a fine save to his left to stop Propper's penalty and leave both teams winless after two group games.

The Russian side took the lead in the eighth minute when Alexandr Erokhin's clever flick played in Poloz, who slotted home.

The lead lasted just six minutes as De Jong's knockdown found Propper, whose deflected effort from the edge of the area beat Dzhanaev.

Poloz scored his second of the contest eight minutes before the break, hitting a bouncing ball into the net from 20 yards.

But PSV levelled in first-half stoppage time as Santiago Arias' cross from the right was deflected against his own crossbar by Vladimir Granat and De Jong was quickest to the rebound, heading his club's 100th goal in the Champions League.

Propper missed the chance to give the visitors the lead from the 57th-minute penalty after De Jong went to the ground in the area following a tangle with defenders Granat and Denis Terentyev.

The PSV midfielder was frustrated again in the 72nd minute when his curling effort from the edge of the area bounced off the bar and landed in Dzhanaev's hands.
