Ivan Perisic on target as Inter Milan rescue draw at Sampdoria

Ivan Perisic struck a 76th-minute equaliser to end Sampdoria's perfect run at the Luigi Ferraris stadium and earn Inter Milan a 1-1 draw on Sunday.

Samp looked to be heading for their fourth straight win in Genoa after Luis Muriel put them ahead six minutes after the restart.

However, Inter pulled level when Perisic tapped in Mauro Icardi's pass for his first Serie A goal to earn his side a valuable point.

Inter saw their perfect start to the season end last week in a 4-1 home defeat to Fiorentina.

Samp had four opportunities in the opening 19 minutes to break the deadlock only for Inter Milan goalkeeper Samir Handanovic to deny attempts from Roberto Soriano, Eder, Joaquin Correa and Niklas Moisander.

Inter had their first shot on goal in the 20th minute with Fredy Guarin's long-range attempt kept out by Samp goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano.

Viviano saved Rodrigo Palacio's 12-yard strike five minutes later after he connected with Alex Telles' dangerous cross.

Samp took the lead after the restart when Muriel got behind Pedro Pereira's cross and his five-yard strike went past Handanovic and found the back of the net.

The visitors surged forward and pulled level when summer signing Perisic scored.
