It's Edgar Martinez weekend in Seattle and the Mariners retired his No. 11 tonight in a pregame ceremony. The next ceremony should be in Cooperstown. He received 58 percent of the vote last year for the Hall of Fame, but has just two years left on the ballot. The selection of one of the best hitters ever -- .312/.418/.515 in his career -- is overdue.
