Barcelona saw off Real Sociedad on Thursday, scoring four times after half-time to win 5-2 in the second leg of their Copa del Rey clash and advance to the semifinals.

Denis Suarez scored the first and last goals on the night, with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Arda Turan also on target as Barcelona completed a 6-2 aggregate triumph at the Camp Nou.

The breakthrough came after Samuel Umtiti won the ball from La Real's Xabi Prieto. It came to Messi, who passed on to Luis Suarez, whose flick-on played Denis Suarez into the box to score with a low shot.

There was a flashpoint five minutes before half-time that saw both Neymar and Carlos Vela booked. The Brazilian star, objecting to a tackle from the Mexican, put his forehead into the face of Vela, who slapped it away. Barcelona's Jordi Alba then also received a yellow card for dissent.

Sociedad had a gilt-edged opportunity to level in the 54th minute, but Jasper Cillessen stopped Willian Jose's shot from six yards, and Barcelona hit back immediately on the counter attack.

Neymar raced away with the ball down the wing and just before shooting was caught from behind by Inigo Martinez. Messi put the penalty into the corner to make it 2-0 on the night.

Sociedad answered with a goal in the 62nd minute, Martinez lofting a ball forward for Juanmi, who stayed on side before chipping Cillessen with a lob on the half-volley.

But less than a minute later, Barcelona restored their three-goal aggregate lead as Messi played in Luis Suarez, who took one touch before beating goalkeer Geronimo Rulli.

The visitors were not finished, however, and cut the deficit 10 minutes later as Aritz Elustondo's cross forward into the box found an open Jose, who headed home.

Barcelona ended any doubt with 10 minutes to play when Messi laid the ball off to an onrushing Aleix Vidal, whose cross found Turan at the back post.

And the rout was on two minutes later when Denis Suarez scored his second of the night by taking a Messi pass and rounding Rulli.
