Cacharros le ganan a Rojos con wild pitch
CHICAGO (AP) - Anthony Rizzo pegó un grand slam en el primer inning, Javier Báez anotó en un wild pitch en el noveno y los Cachorros de Chicago superaron el miércoles un rally tardío de los Rojos de Cincinnati para imponerse 7-6.
El puertorriqueño Báez abrió la parte baja del noven episodio con un doble ante el dominicano Wandy Peralta (3-3) y el bateador emergente Jon Jay recibió un boleto. Ben Zobrist hizo avanzar entonces a los corredores con un roletazo de out.
El relevista Blake Wood salió al montículo y ponchó a Albert Almora Jr. Con dos outs y Kris Bryant al bate, Wood tuvo el lanzamiento decisivo, que se marchó lejos del catcher Tucker Barnhart y propició la carrera de la victoria de Chicago.
Wade Davis (3-1) trabajó una novena entrada perfecta y redimió al bullpen, que estuvo a punto de estropear la sólida salida de John Lackey admitiendo tres jonrones que anularon una renta de cinco carreras a favor.
El tercer grand slam de la carrera de Rizzo llegó después de que los dos equipos llenaron las bases con sus tres primeros bateadores del juego.
