Blue Jays completan barrida sobre Braves, que sufren buen susto con dolencia de Ronald Acuña Jr.
ATLANTA (AP) -- Bo Bichette conectó un doble de dos carreras para tomar ventaja en la novena entrada y ayudar a los Toronto Blue Jays a concretar una nueva remontada para vencer 8-4 a los Atlanta Braves y barrer la serie anual de seis encuentros.
El jardinero de los Braves, Ronald Acuña Jr., dejó el partido en la séptima entrada por una aparente lesión en el tobillo izquierdo.
Toronto estuvo abajo 2-0 y 4-3 antes de lograr su décima victoria viniendo de atrás en la temporada y la tercera de la serie.
Danny Jansen, quien batea apenas para .095, abrió la novena entrada con un sencillo ante Will Smith (0-3). Marcus Semien pegó imparable y Bichette disparó el doble entre jardín derecho y central para poner a Toronto arriba 6-4.
Bichette terminó con dos hits y tres carreras producidas. Smith salió del encuentro luego de conceder el segundo doble de Cavan Biggio, batazo que llevó otra carrera a home.
Travis Bergen (1-0) trabajó en blanco el octavo episodio y Jordan Romano ponchó a los tres rivales que enfrentó en la novena entrada.
Acuña abrió el partido con su jonrón 12 de la campaña, la cifra más alta de Grandes Ligas, luego sufrió la lesión al correr las bases al batear una rola a la antesala.
En un principio, el umpire de primera, Mike Estabrook marcó safe a Acuña, antes de que la decisión fuera revertida tras revisar el video. El venezolano cojeó al concluir su carrera y luego se tendió sobre el césped antes de caminar a la caseta.
Smith admitió cuatro carreras y un hit en el noveno episodio y sacó apenas un out.
Por los Blue Jays, el dominicanos Teoscar Hernández bateó de 4-2 con una carrera impulsada y dos anotadas y el cubano Lourdes Gurriel Jr. de 4-1 con una remolcada.
Por los Braves, Acuña Jr. se fue de 4-1 con una impulsada y una anotada y Ehire Adrianza de 4-1 con una remolcada, mientras que el dominicano Marcell Ozuna de 3-1 con una anotada.
