Bryce Harper vuelve a brillar con Philadelphia
FILADELFIA (AP) - Bryce Harper siguió escuchando en Filadelfia el coro que pide su elección como el Jugador Más Valioso de la temporada.
Harper bateó un doble para comenzar un ataque de siete carreras que igualó el encuentro en la cuarta entrada. En la sexta, produjo la carrera de la ventaja y en la séptima disparó un jonrón de tres carreras que aseguró el triunfo conseguido el jueves por los Filis de Filadelfia, 17-8 sobre los Cachorros de Chicago.
Los argumentos de Harper para obtener el galardón se están reforzando. Y se mantienen vivas las aspiraciones de Filadelfia, de avanzar a los playoffs.
Los Filis están tres juegos detrás de los Bravos, quienes lideran la División Este de la Liga Nacional y cuyo encuentro del jueves se pospuso por la lluvia. Restan 16 compromisos de la campaña regular.
Además, Filadelfia está dos juegos y medio debajo de San Luis, en la puja por el segundo boleto de comodín a la postemporada. San Diego y Cincinnati tienen también ventaja sobre Filadelfia en la disputa por el wild-card.
Harper bateó una línea de doble al jardín izquierdo, que produjo una carrera ante el mexicano Manuel Rodríguez (3-3), cuando había un out de la sexta entrada, para que Filadelfia tomara la ventaja por 8-7.
En la séptima, logró su 33er cuadrangular de la temporada, un garrotazo de tres carreras frente a Rex Brothers que colocó el encuentro 15-8.
El dominicano Héctor Neris (3-6) se llevó el triunfo con dos innings de relevo.
Por los Cachorros, los venezolanos Rafael Ortega de 4-0 con una anotada, Willson Contreras de 4-2 con dos anotadas y dos producidas. El dominicano Sergio Alcántara de 3-1 con una anotada.
Por los Filis, los venezolanos Odúbel Herrera de 5-2 con dos anotadas y tres impulsadas, Freddy Galvis de 3-1 con dos anotadas. El dominicano Jean Segura de 6-3 con tres anotadas y tres impulsadas.
