Reds supera a Nationals en 11 innings, pero se rezaga
CINCINNATI (AP) -- Arístides Aquino empujó a TJ Friedl desde la intermedia con un sencillo que puso fin al juego, y los Cincinnati Reds superaron el viernes 8-7 a los Washington Nationals en 11 capítulos.
El potente roletazo del dominicano Aquino frente a Mason Thompson (1-2) golpeó el guante del intermedista Luis García y se escapó al bosque derecho.
Pese al triunfo, los Reds se rezagaron más respecto de St. Louis Cardinals en la puja por el segundo boleto de comodín a la postemporada en la Liga Nacional. Los encendidos Cardinals barrieron una doble cartelera ante los Chicago Cubs.
Cincinnati se ubica seis juegos detrás de los Cardinals, cuando restan ocho encuentros por disputar. Philadelphia Phillies está en medio de ambos equipos.
Art Warren (3-0) escapó de un predicamento con las bases repletas en el undécimo inning, gracias a Joey Votto, quien estuvo atento para una jugada a la defensiva. El primera base superó por poco a García para pisar la almohadilla y poner fin a la entrada luego de atrapar una potente roleta a guante volteado.
Por los Nationals, los venezolanos Alcides Escobar de 6-2 con dos anotadas y dos producidas, Keibert Ruiz de 5-3 con una anotada y dos impulsadas. El dominicano Juan Soto de 2-0 con tres anotadas. El panameño Paolo Espino de 2-1.
