Con 2 jonrones de Bichette, Blue Jays se imponen a Reds
TORONTO (AP) -- Bo Bichette consiguió dos jonrones, Alek Manoah igualó la labor más larga en su carrera con ocho entradas en el montículo y los Toronto Blue Jays derrotaron el sábado 3-1 a los Cincinnati Reds.
El primer garrotazo de Bichette llegó sin hombres en los senderos ante el derecho Hunter Greene en la cuarta entrada. El segundo en el juego y el 50mo en la carrera del bateador empujó un par de carreras ante el mexicano Luis Cessa (2-1) en el séptimo capítulo.
Los dos llegaron en el primer lanzamiento que le hicieron. Es la sexta vez que Bichette logra más de un cuadrangular en su carrera.
Todos sus vuelacercas en esta temporada han valido para empatar la pizarra o dar a Toronto la ventaja.
Greene permitió una carrera y cuatro hits en seis innings, durante los que entregó un par de boletos y repartió seis ponches. Cumplió su primera apertura desde el domingo pasado, cuando lanzó siete capítulos y un tercio ante Pittsburgh.
Manoah (5-1) aceptó una carrera y siete hits para cortar una racha de tres aperturas sin victoria. Logró su primer triunfo desde el 28 de abril, cuando superó a Boston.
Entregó un boleto y repartió cuatro ponches.
Jordan Romano ponchó a sus tres adversarios en el noveno inning para lograr su 14to rescate en 16 intentos, con lo que lidera la Liga Americana.
