Blue Jays logra primera barrida de 4 juegos sobre Angels en 30 años
ANAHEIM, California (AP) -- El Cubano Lourdes Gurriel Jr rompió el empate con un doble productor en la octava entrada para conseguir su cifra más alta en la campaña de cinco impulsadas y los Toronto Blue Jays superaron dos jonrones de Shohei Ohtani para derrotar el domingo 11-10 a Los Ángeles Angels y concretar la barrida de cuatro partidos.
El dominicano Raimel Tapia impulsó tres anotaciones y consiguió la igualada con un jonrón en la octava entrada para Toronto, que logró su primera barrida de cuatro encuentros contra los Angels en 30 años con su mayor número de anotadas en la campaña.
Toronto desperdició una ventaja de cuatro carreras y Los Ángeles hizo lo propio cuando tenía diferencia a su favor de tres anotaciones en un partido de toma y daca en el que ambos equipos conectaron en conjunto 25 hits y en el que desde el inicio Ohtani mostró su más reciente poder ofensivo.
Ohtani disparó un cuadrangular solitario en la primera entrada y otro de dos anotaciones en el tercer episodio, en el noveno partido de su carrera en el que consigue al menos dos vuelacercas. El Jugador Más Valioso de la Liga Americana acumula siete jonrones en mayo y 11 en lo que va de la campaña.
El relevista Adam Cimber (6-2), de los Azulejos, trabajó los últimos dos tercios de la séptima entrada y se llevó el triunfo.
El venezolano José Quijada (0-1), de los Angels, no actuaba en Grandes Ligas desde el 17 de abril y cargó con la derrota.
