Con su mejor actuación Sears catapulta el triunfo de Yankees
NUEVA YORK (AP) -- JP Sears amplió su racha sin anotación a 12 entradas dos tercios y ganó su segunda apertura en el triunfo que los New York Yankees obtuvieron el martes por 2-1 sobre los Oakland Athletics, el peor equipo en las Grandes Ligas.
Con la victoria, los Yankees, el mejor equipo de las mayores, acumulan 15 victorias en 19 encuentros.
Portando en su jersey el número 92, el número más alto en la historia de los Yankees para un abridor, Sears (3-0), limitó a los Athletics a tres hits, ponchó a uno y regaló una base por bolas en cinco entradas dos tercios.
Josh Donaldson lo respaldó con un doble productor en la primera entrada propinado al dominicano Frankie Montas (3-8), que podría ser canjeado, mientras que el venezolano Marwin González conectó un jonrón en la segunda.
Tras dos interferencias del cátcher contra Sean Murphy el lunes, el jugador alcanzó la base debido a una interferencia ahora de José Treviño cuando iban dos outs en la novena y un roletazo a segunda. En ese momento, los altavoces del estadio pusieron la canción "New York, New York" de finalización del partido.
