Hit de Almora Jr. con casa llena da a Reds triunfo sobre Braves
CINCINNATI (AP) -- Albert Almora Jr. conectó un sencillo con casa llena en el noveno inning para dar a los Cincinnati Reds una victoria de 4-3 sobre los Atlanta Braves el domingo.
Los Reds no solo evitaron una barrida en la serie, sino que también rompieron una racha de 10 derrotas consecutivas en el Great American Ball Park, la más larga de derrotas en casa para el equipo desde que perdieron 11 seguidos en el Riverfront Stadium en abril-mayo de 1986.
En el noveno, el relevista de los Braves, A.J. Minter (4-2), permitió un sencillo a Tommy Pham antes de dar base por bolas a Joey Votto y golpear al bateador emergente Jonathan India para llenar las bases sin outs. Almora Jr. pegó su hit, que superó el lance del tercera base Austin Riley.
Fue el primer juego en que los Reds ejan tendidos a sus rivales en la temporada. Habían sido limitados a un solo hit en siete entradas por el abridor de los Braves, Charlie Morton. El lanzador de 38 años ponchó a 10 y dio una base por bolas en su tercera aparición de siete entradas de la temporada.
