Rockies anota rally de seis carreras y vence a Cardenales
DENVER (AP) - Brendan Rodgers y Ryan McMahon dispararon jonrones consecutivos durante una ofensiva de seis anotaciones en la séptima entrada para los Rockies de Colorado, que lograron defender apenas la ventaja y se impusieron el jueves 8-6 a los Cardenales de San Luis.
Con la victoria, los Rockies ganaron su primera serie desde el receso del Juego de Estrellas.
Colorado, que resistió tres hits más de Paul Goldschmidt, incluido su 27mo jonrón, mejoró su foja a 7-14 desde el 22 de julio.
El extoletero de los Rockies, Nolan Arenado, sacudió su 24to cuadrangular y amplió a nueve duelos su racha bateando de hit. Sin embargo, se ponchó con dos a bordo en la novena entrada y ahí terminó todo para los Cardenales.
San Luis sufrió su segundo descalabro en tres partidos desde que obtuvo siete victorias al hilo.
Jordan Hicks (3-6) dio dos bases por bolas cuando llevaba un out en el séptimo episodio. Lo relevó el dominicano Génesis Cabrera.
Charlie Blackmon rompió el empate 2-2 con un roletazo que se fue por el lado derecho y le siguió el cubano José Iglesias con un sencillo productor en dirección al jardín central.
Rodgers sacudió después su cuadrangular de tres carreras que envió la pelota a unos 407 pies, tras conectar un cambio de velocidad al primer lanzamiento que le hicieron. Ha conectado de 19-10 en sus últimos cuatro partidos.
McMahon disparó un jonrón solitario por el jardín derecho que puso fin a la actuación de Cabrera, quien sólo había efectuado 13 lanzamientos.
Brian Serven aportó un doble de dos carreras y Lucas Gilbreath (1-0), de Colorado, trabajó de manera perfecta el séptimo episodio.
Por los Rockies, el cubano José Iglesias de 4-2, una anotada, una producida. El dominicano Elehuris Montero de 4-0.
Por los Cardenales, el puertorriqueño Yadier Moilna de 4-1 y el colombiano Brendan Donovan de 4-1, una anotada.
