Álvarez vacía las bases con doble en triunfo de Astros
HOUSTON (AP) -- El cubano Yordan Álvarez disparó un doble de tres carreras que significó la ventaja en la séptima entrada y los Houston Astros remontaron para doblegar el viernes 6-3 a los Chicago White Sox.
Los Astros, monarcas de la última Serie Mundial, consiguieron así su primer triunfo de la nueva campaña.
Kyle Tucker conectó un jonrón de dos carreras en el sexto inning y realizó una atrapada espectacular ante el muro en la séptima entrada, con lo cual privó de un extrabase a Andrew Benintendi y mantuvo a Houston a una carrera de distancia.
El dominicano Eloy Jiménez bateó dos dobles productores por Chicago, ambos ante su compatriota, el abridor Cristian Javier.
El primer doble de Jiménez empujó a Tim Anderson en el primer inning. En el sexto, Javier permitió tres dobletes seguidos, a Benintendi, Jiménez y el cubano Yoán Moncada, para colocar la pizarra en 3-0 y poner fin a su noche.
Kendall Graveman (0-1), relevista de los White Sox, llenó las bases con dos outs en el séptimo capítulo, por medio de dos boletos y un sencillo. Jake Diekman llegó al montículo y permitió el doble de Álvarez entre el jardín izquierdo y el central.
La pelota se le escapó por poco al cubano Luis Robert Jr y rebotó en el muro, para que la casa se vaciara.
Por los White Sox, los cubanos Robert de 5-1, Moncada de 4-3 con una anotada, Yasmani Grandal de 4-1, Óscar Colás de 3-0. El dominicano Jiménez de 4-2 con una anotada y dos producidas. El venezolano Elvis Andrus de 4-1.
