CHICAGO (AP) -- El mexicano Javier Assad lanzó seis entradas y los Chicago Cubs superaron al dominicano Freddy Peralta y los Milwaukee Brewers para llevarse la victoria 5-0 el domingo en el último encuentro de la serie de fin de semana.
Assad (3-0) permitió cuatro imparables, ponchó a cuatro y repartió tres boletos para reducir su efectividad a 1.66. El derecho ha permitido dos o menos carreras en sus siete aperturas de la temporada.
Chicago ganó dos juegos seguidos tras perder el viernes por 3-1. Los abridores de los Cachorros se combinaron para tener 18 1/3 entradas sin permitir anotación en la serie y sólo aceptaron nueve hits.
Peralta (3-1) igualó su máximo de carrera con seis bases por bola en cinco episodios. Permitió tres hits y ponchó a cinco en un soleado pero cálido domingo en Wrigley Field.
Fue la primera apertura del derecho desde que fue suspendido cinco juegos por su papel en una pelea el martes ante los Rays. Peralta está en medio de su apelación al castigo.
