CHICAGO (AP) -- Michael Busch inauguró el noveno capítulo con un jonrón que puso fin al encuentro, Cody Bellinger aportó un cuadrangular en su regreso tras sufrir una fractura de costillas, y los Chicago Cubs superaron el martes 3-2 a los San Diego Padres.
Bellinger totalizó tres inatrapables luego de perderse dos semanas de actividad. Dio a los Cubs la ventaja de 1-0 en el comienzo del cuarto acto, con su palo de cuatro esquinas frente al dominicano Randy Vásquez.
El duelo siguió así hasta la octava entrada, cuando los Padres atacaron a Shota Imanaga, quien había tenido una labor tranquila en los primeros siete innings.
El japonés permitió un sencillo al emergente venezolano Luis Arráez en el comienzo del episodio, antes de que Jurickson Profar pusiera fin a su labor con un leñazo de dos vueltas que envió la pelota apenas por encima del muro del bosque izquierdo.
San Diego tenía un hombre en tercera con dos outs, cuando el intermedista Nico Hoerner retrocedió para atrapar un globo de Xander Bogaerts, lo que evitó otra carrera.
El dominicano Héctor Neris (2-0) se embolsó el triunfo. Su compatriota Enyel de los Santos (1-2) fue el derrotado.
