Drew Thorpe consigue su primera victoria en Grandes Ligas y Medias Blancas superan 5-1 a Tigres
DETROIT (AP) - Drew Thorpe lanzó seis entradas sin permitir anotación y consiguió su primera victoria en Grandes Ligas en su tercera apertura en la victoria de los Chicago White Sox 5-1 el sábado ante los Detroit Tigers.
Thorpe (1-1) permitió dos hits y cuatro boletos, ponchando a cinco. El derecho de 23 años no tuvo decisión en su debut ante Seattle el 11 de junio y lanzó sólo tres entradas un tercio en la derrota 12-5 ante Arizona el 16 de junio.
Elegido en la segunda ronda por los Yankees en el draft amateur 2022, Thorpe fue enviado a San Diego en diciembre a cambio de Juan Soto y posteriormente lo canjearon a Chicago en marzo como parte del paquete para adquirir al derecho Dylan Cease.
Korey Lee pegó un cuadrangular, Nicky Lopez conectó tres imparables y una empujada, mientras que Andrew Vaughn, Paul DeJong y el venezolano Lenyn Sosa empujaron carreras para que los Medias Blancas (21-57), que tienen la peor marca de las Grandes Ligas, pusieran fin a su racha de tres derrotas.
