BALTIMORE (AP) — Corbin Burnes toleró nueve hits esparcidos a lo largo de siete innings, el novato Heston Kjerstad aportó un jonrón y tres impulsadas, y los Orioles de Baltimore arrollaron el jueves 11-2 a los decaídos Rangers de Texas.
Cedric Mullins, Adley Rutschman y Colton Cowser consiguieron también sendos vuelacercas por Baltimore, que edificó una ventaja de 8-1 en el cuarto acto frente a Jon Gray (3-4) y navegó tranquilo hacia su segundo triunfo en fila, luego de perder cinco juegos consecutivos.
El cubano Adolis Garcia bateó un cuadrangular por Texas, campeón de la última Serie Mundial, que ha perdido cuatro encuentros al hilo y se ha rezagado a siete juegos de la marca de .500 (37-44). Los Rangers han perdido siete compromisos seguidos de visita.
Estos cuatro duelos, que concluyen el domingo, son una reedición de la Serie Divisional de 2023 en la Liga Americana, en que los Rangers lograron una barrida en tres juegos.
Ahora, los Orioles parecen encaminados de nuevo a los playoffs. Llegaron a la mitad de la campaña con un registro de 51-30.
Burnes (9-3) mejoró su efectividad a 2,28, al igualar su actuación más larga del año. El derecho aceptó una carrera, no dio boletos y repartió cinco ponches.
