Pirates evita la barrida ante Braves
ATLANTA (AP) - El dominicano Oneil Cruz y Rowdy Tellez tuvieron jonrones de dos carreras cada uno en la quinta entrada y los Pittsburgh Pirates superaron el domingo por 4-2 a los Atlanta Braves para evitar perder la serie por barrida.
La recha de 25 encuentros con al menos un hit de Bryan Reynolds terminó con dos ponches y dos rodados en sus cuatro turnos al bate. Llegó a ser la racha más larga de la temporada y la más extensa de los Piratas desde que Kenny Lofton tuvo 26 en el 2003.
La quinta de cuatro anotaciones de los Piratas inició con un reto exitoso y que llevó a que Jack Suwinski fueron golpeado por un lanzamiento de Spencer Schwellenbach (1-4). Con dos outs, Cruz bateó un cuadrangular de 452 pies sobre el jardín derecho.
Schwellenbach le regaló un boleto al venezolano Edward Olivares antes de que Tellez pegara su cuarto jonrón al jardín derecho.
El zurdo de Pittsburgh Bailey Falter (4-6) repartió cuatro bases por bola en cinco episodios, pero sólo permitió una carrera y dos hits.
