KANSAS CITY, Missouri (AP) -- Salvador Pérez y Hunter Renfroe consiguieron sendos jonrones de dos carreras durante un ataque de cinco anotaciones en el tercer acto, y los Kansas City Royals derrotaron el viernes 7-4 a los Philadelphia Phillies.
El venezolano Pérez emuló el éxito que tuvo jugando con un grupo de niños en un traspatio un día antes, y brindó una noche de tres impulsadas, en el comienzo de una serie interligas entre dos clubes que aspiran a la postemporada.
Paul DeJong y Vinnie Pasquantino empujaron también tres carreras, para ayudar a que los Royals se acercaran a un juego de Cleveland Guardians, líder de la División Central de la Liga Americana.
Michael Wacha (11-6) estiró a siete su número de decisiones ganadas en forma consecutiva. Toleró dos carreras y seis hits en seis innings, durante los que recetó cinco ponches.
No cae desde el 22 de junio y no ha permitido más de tres carreras limpias en una apertura desde el 4 de junio.
Lucas Erceg permitió un doble en el inicio del noveno capítulo pero se acreditó su décimo salvamento de la campaña --cuarto desde que llegó a Kansas City mediante un canje.
La derrota fue para Taijuan Walker (3-5), quien permitió seis carreras y ocho hits en tres innings, durante los cuales entregó un boleto.
