Deportivo Saprissa and Pachuca played out a scoreless draw in the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal on Tuesday in San Juan de Tibas.
Visitors Pachuca, who were shut out for the first time in 25 CCL outings, came closest to breaking the deadlock when Omar Gonzalez's goal in the 34th minute was chalked off for offside.
Marvin Angulo came closest to scoring for the hosts in the all-action affair, but in the end Pachuca keeper Alfonso Blanco was equal to everything that Saprissa threw at him.
Pachuca will host the return leg on Feb. 28 at the Estadio Hidalgo.
