Zlatan Ibrahimovic scores brace in farewell as PSG win Coupe de France

Zlatan Ibrahimovic signed off his record-breaking spell at Paris St Germain with two goals and an assist in the 4-2 Coupe de France victory over Marseille.

The Sweden international scored his 155th and 156th goals in his 180th match for the club, securing a second successive domestic treble and in doing so equalled Marseille's all-time record of 10 Coupe de France titles.

It took for Ibrahimovic to be gifted his first from a 46th-minute penalty to spark the enigmatic 34-year-old into life after an anonymous opening first half in which his only contribution saw a far-post volley diverted away from goal by the apparent arm of Marseille's Florian Thauvin, who had briefly put his side back on level terms with a smart finish of his own.

In fact, it seemed midfielder Blaise Matuidi was destined to upstage the main protagonist after giving PSG a second-minute lead converting Angel di Maria's brilliant outside-of-the-left-foot cross from the right and then winning the penalty just 24 seconds after the interval.

Matuidi even laid on the pass eight minutes from time for Ibrahimovic, who played in Edinson Cavani for PSG's third just before the hour, to score his second eight minutes from the end by comfortably beating goalkeeper Steve Mandanda in a one-on-one.

But PSG's mercurial front man, who having been crowned France's player of the year for a record third time modestly declared ``I came like a king, left like a legend'', was not prepared to allow anyone to steal his limelight.

Having been gifted a goal from the spot when Matuidi's run into the area was halted by Nicolas N'Koulou a minute into the second half the Swede decided it was time to turn in a performance.

Suddenly he discovered an extra yard of pace and a willingness to drop deep to pick up the ball.

With the Marseille defence leaving a gaping hole he threaded a 57th-minute pass into the inside-right channel for Cavani to make it 3-1.

Matuidi then teed up one more for Ibrahmovic in the 82nd minute to sign off his PSG career in exactly the manner the Swede would have envisaged with Michy Batshuayi's goal three minutes from time little consolation for Marseille.
