Major League Baseball (MLB) continues LIVE all month on ESPN, and these last two months of regular season action promise to be electrifying. The defending world series champion Boston Red Sox have been struggling in the American League (AL) East, with both the hot Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees looking tough, while elsewhere in the AL the surging Oakland Athletics in the West and the Detroit Tigers and Kansas City Royals in the Central are making life difficult for their rivals.
In the National League (NL), the Milwaukee Brewers have made it clear to the St. Louis Cardinals - losers to the Red Sox for the last World Series title - that they want the Central Division all for themselves. Meanwhile, the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers are keeping the temperature high in the West, while the Atlanta Braves, Washington Nationals and surprising Miami Marlins are doing the same in the East.

Little League Baseball celebrates 75 years of a favorite pastime - Full coverage of the Little League World Series airing LIVE on ESPN2
Little League Baseball's motto is: character, courage, loyalty. Now celebrating its 75th anniversary, Little League Baseball is played in more than 80 countries worldwide and boasts more than 2.4 million children participating each year.
Each season features an International Tournament that closes with the prestigious Little League World Series, a showcase for 16 regional champions - eight from the United States and one each from the Caribbean, Australia, Asia-Pacific, Canada, Mexico, Latin America, Japan and Europe & Africa. Played in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania from August 14 - 24, this year's World Series Championship Game, the 68th, will mark the grand finale of Little League's 75th Anniversary Celebration.
Besides giving children around the world a game that teaches sportsmanship, fair play and teamwork, a glance at the numbers in the Little League International Tournament tell a compelling story: more than 10,000 teams from around the world open the Tournament, with 45,000 games played in nine divisions leading up to the various World Series tournaments. More than 16,000 of those games are played in the Little League Baseball division, the equivalent of more than six Major League Baseball seasons. Last year saw Japan win their 9th championship as Tokyo beat Chula Vista, California, for the Little League World Series title.
ESPN2's extensive coverage of the Little League World Series airs LIVE beginning August 14 with early round coverage followed by the U.S. and International Championship Games and the final Championship game airing August 24.
