Marek Hamsik hit the winning goal as Napoli moved into third place with a 2-1 home victory over Torino.
Lorenzo Insigne's stellar goal set the tone for a one-sided match at the Stadio San Paolo but Torino levelled with a Fabio Quagliarella penalty, meaning Hamsik had to force the issue before half-time.
Napoli were rampant from the off and Jose Callejon could have scored twice before Insigne grabbed a stunning opener.
A fantastic team move saw Gonzalo Higuain spin the ball out wide to Callejon, who touched it back inside for Insigne to loop home with his laces in the 16th minute.
Jose Reina had to make a smart save from Quagliarella on the half-hour and, after Higuain sent Daniele Padelli flying across his goalmouth, Torino did manage to notch at the other end.
Faouzi Ghoulam conceded a penalty for his foul on Bruno Peres and Quagliarella stepped up to strike a blow against his hometown club.
His joy was short-lived, though. Four minutes before the break Insigne picked out Hamsik for a powerful finish under Padelli at his near post.
The second half was not as entertaining as the first but Napoli remained dangerous, with Insigne rattling the bar with a free-kick and Kalidou Koulibaly fizzing the ball past a post on the hour mark.
Despite the Azzurri dominance Torino could have levelled in the 76th minute. Under pressure from Maxi Lopez, Koulibaly gave away possession with Reina exposed - luckily for the Senegalese, nothing came of the chance.
