Mateo Musacchio nets late equaliser as Villarreal steal a point from Espanyol

Mateo Musacchio's late header rescued Villarreal a 2-2 draw at Espanyol, extending the visitors' unbeaten streak in the Primera Division to seven matches.
The Argentina defender nodded home at the far post with two minutes of regular time to play, as Villarreal stole a point after a sluggish showing.
Felipe Caicedo and Gerard Moreno had fired Espanyol into a commanding 2-1 lead that the hosts held until the final exchanges, only for Musacchio to sneak free to secure a share of the spoils.
Espanyol's forward pair had hoped to secure their side a first La Liga victory since December 19, but the home men were cruelly denied at the death.
Ecuador hitman Caicedo put the home side ahead after just four minutes, side-footing home with an unruffled finish after racing clear.
The 27-year-old was later denied a penalty, before trudging disconsolately out of the contest with an as-yet unspecified injury complaint.
Manu Trigueros levelled for Villarreal midway through the first-half, latching onto a smart reverse flick from former Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado.
Trigueros steadied himself then drilled a low shot home from 20 yards, as the visitors pegged Espanyol back.
The in-form travelling side struggled to conjure any further breakthroughs despite dominating possession however, allowing Espanyol to edge back ahead.
Moreno then claimed just his third goal in 20 appearances this term as Espanyol eyed a highly-unlikely victory, flicking home from close range after a cute near-post run.
Villarreal spent the second-half battling to pull their hosts apart, but struggled to produce any telling final-third play.
But just when the visitors started to accept the inevitability of defeat, up popped Musacchio with the crucial levelling goal.
Espanyol's incensed players accosted both the referee and his assistants in remonstrating against the late equaliser, only for Moreno to be sent off for his part in the protests.
