Fede Cartabia's late equaliser earned Deportivo La Coruna a 1-1 draw at fellow Primera Division strugglers Eibar.
The hosts looked on course for a win which would have secured their status in Spain's top flight next season when Adrian gave them an eighth-minute lead.
Cartabia's intervention 19 minutes from time, though, ensured a share of the spoils which could well prove valuable for both sides.
Deportivo are now seven points clear of the bottom three while Eibar, a further three points ahead, will have their safety confirmed if Getafe fail to beat Valencia on Sunday.
Adrian could have given Eibar the lead with an early headed chance but he made no mistake when he converted a right-footed shot past Manuel Fernandez Muniz.
Borja Baston blasted a shot high and wide of the Depor goal and the on-loan Atletico Madrid striker saw another attempt miss the target after 35 minutes.
Faycal Fajr, without doubt Deportivo's main threat in the first half, almost levelled from Lucas Perez's cross before the interval but his left-footed effort flew just wide.
Laure lifted another fine chance over for Deportivo while Izet Hajrovic was inches away from handing Eibar a two-goal advantage with a free-kick which cannoned back off the post just before the hour mark.
Deportivo continued to threaten, though, and Cartabia scuffed a glorious chance wide at the back post after another Perez delivery.
The pressure did pay off eventually as Cartabia dragged the visitors level with a fine left-footed strike from the corner of the penalty area which arrowed into the far corner after 71 minutes.
Eibar's Mauro dos Santos and Deportivo's Perez both had chances for a late winner but it finished level at the Ipurua Municipal Stadium.
