Un servicio conmemorativo que celebró la vida de la leyenda de Lakers, Kobe Bryant, y su hija Gianna, se efectuó en el Staples Center de Los Angeles. La fecha, el 24 de febrero, reflejó los números de camiseta de baloncesto usados por Kobe (No. 24) y Gianna ( No. 2).
El servicio se llevó a cabo poco menos de un mes después de que Bryant, Gianna -de 13 años-, y otras siete personas murieron en un accidente de helicóptero en Calabasas, California, el 26 de enero.
Más de 20,000 personas, amigos, familiares y aquellos que adquirieron boletos a través de una lotería (80,000 aplicados), se apiñaron en la arena, y las ganancias de los boletos beneficiaron a la Fundación Deportiva Mamba & Mambacita.
