El ex receptor abierto de los Seahawks, Jermaine Kearse, empleó sus redes sociales para oficializar su retiro de la NFL

El receptor abierto Jermaine Kearse anunció su retiro oficial de la NFL este martes, publicando en su cuenta de Instagram que estaba "dejando el juego extremadamente agradecido y contento con lo que fui capaz de lograr".

Kearse, quien creció en Washington y que anotara un touchdown en la victoria de los Seattle Seahawks en el Super Bowl XLVIII sobre los Denver Broncos, escribió que fue un "completo honor" jugar para ese equipo, y que estaba "agradecido por poder llevar a casa nuestro primer Super Bowl!".

It's never really easy writing posts like this. I'm not a big announcement type of guy lol Trying to find all the right words to say to sum up my experiences over the past decade isn't an easy feat so I'm going to try and keep this short and sweet. Lol After 8years playing in the NFL, I'm leaving the game feeling extremely grateful and content with what I was able to accomplish out there on the field not only for myself, but my family as well. Going through some extreme highs and some extreme lows has taught me a lot about myself and by the grace of God he was able to pull me through the rough times and in the end all those experiences were all worth it. I want to thank my wife @marisakearse for being the incredible woman that she is. Thank you for keeping me sane during the tough times and thank you for pushing me to be a better man. I couldn't have done it without you. Thank you to my family for your endless support and I love you guys so much! Thank you to all my teammates! You guys made this whole experience what it was. I had so much fun out there with you guys. I love y'all. Seattle, as a hometown kid it was a complete honor to represent you guys out there on the field. Thank you so much for your endless support throughout my football career. It was an honor to put on that Hawks uniform and I'm so grateful I was able to help bring our first Super Bowl home! Kearse, de 30 años de edad y que firmara con los Detroit Lions la temporada pasada gracias a su familiaridad con el sistema del coordinador ofensivo Darrell Bevell, se fracturó la pierna izquierda y se lastimó el tobillo izquierdo en la apertura de la pretemporada de Detroit frente a los New England Patriots en el 2019. Los Lions lo colocaron entonces en la lista de reservas lesionados, poniendo fin a su temporada.

El ex receptor abierto de 6 pies con 1 pulgada pasó las primeras cinco campañas de su carrera con Seattle antes de ser traspasado a los New York Jets el 1° de septiembre del 2017 como parte de un acuerdo por Sheldon Richardson. Había firmado con Detroit la temporada pasada en un intento por tratar de darle una resurrección a su carrera después de un año a la baja con New York en el 2018, donde sumó apenas 37 recepciones para 371 yardas y un touchdown.

Kearse fue un receptor abierto productivo para Seattle, participando en 69 encuentros (iniciando 51 de ellos), y atrapando 153 pases para 2,109 yardas con 11 touchdowns.

En su carrera, sumó 255 atrapadas para 3,290 yardas y 17 touchdowns de temporada regular. También sumó 31 recepciones para 493 yardas con seis touchdowns en la postemporada.
